Opening to Inner Light

Life brings many challenges that may jolt us out of our comortable and perhaps complacent existence. This can offer the opportunity to look deeper it life and what is of real and lasting value.  An inner light comes into being deep within that draws us in a new direction. This spiritual awakening and change can bring the experience of seemingly chaotic and confusing energies. fo

The symbolism of the seven lamp stands at the beginning of the Book of Revelation highlights the importance the Christ-flame bringing in

ner light to this process of awakening. We also find vivid images that depict both conflicts and power of divine love to transcend and protect what is of spiritual worth and value.

Using the rich resource of images from the book of Revelation de

signed and drawn by G Roland Smith, we will explore these universal themes of how we can open up to the flame of the Christ -spirit within and allow it to guide and be embodied in our life.

Coming Home to your true self

At the beginning of each person’s life is the potential to delve deeper and engage with the process of giving birth to what is our true self. This journey involves times of challenge and also times of inner peace and rest – both are part of the process. This insight leads us out of spiritual captivity, guides our spiritual development, and brings us to our true self as a beloved child of God. Using cards based on spiritual-psychological principles, we will share and discover the next step on our own particular path to coming home to our true self.  

The weekend provides space for meditation and reflection as well as talks, sharing in small groups. The central focus will be the ‘Journeying Home’ cards which have been developed from the insights from Swedenborg’s spiritual symbolism combined with whatever wisdom has been given through the life experiences of those who have been involved with this project.

These four Saturday mornings are for those who want to explore some of the spiritual principles held within Swedenborg’s teachings. Our course book is Our Soul’s Awakening by Thomas King which can be downloaded. But also we will draw on passages directly from Swedenborg’s Secrets of Heaven.

Awakening to Spirit

Wednesday, 5th September, 6.30 – 8.30pm.

Becoming aware of a deeper experience of life and our inner spiritual journey brings a realisation that this transcends our everyday existence. It stops us in our tracks, making us reflect on life and its meaning. In this moment, we consciously realise that this seed has been growing in secret deep within us.

There will be an introduction and then we will work with cards exploring the images in terms of our own spiritual journey. The cards used are images from the book of Revelation designed and drawn by  Roland Smith

Beyond the Rainbow

Outwardly …. the bridge between dark and light … inwardly, the rainbow is what the soul itself is, the bridge between body and spirit.        Owen Barfield

A RAINBOW is something unexpected and we have a childlike delight in discovering it and seeing its beauty. It makes us stop and look and wonder. The rainbow is seen in the sky but it reaches down to earth – heaven and earth together – connected in that moment.  Perhaps in the rainbow we can begin to see an aspect of what it is to be human – to be a bridge between what is spiritual and what is concerned with living in the physical world.

 We find that working in a group of people, who wish to grow spiritually, enriches the whole experience. Activities will include meditation, movement and time to reflect.

Rita will offer Reiki sessions for those who are interested; Helen offers Life Symbols sessions.

 Join us in the beautiful surroundings of Ficulle in Umbria, Italy with our hosts, Jane and Derek Leigh: casadiamici.co.uk. There will be one free day for sightseeing; both Rome and Florence can easily be reached by train.

Cost including course workbook and accommodation and food is £450/ £650 (for single occupancy). Travel expenses are not included. Space is limited so do book early by sending a deposit of £70 to Helen Brown.

Healing through Symbols and Bodywork

Purley Chase Centre, Warwickshire

10th/11th October 2012

Two days of talks, sharing in groups, one to one sessions of Reiki healing, spiritual counselling, life symbols, space to reflect and enjoy nature in the lovely grounds, walk a labyrinth, dance and movement.  Come for one of 2 days or stay overnight and experience both. Cost for day is £32, for overnight accommodation costs etc contact Purley Chase Centre.

Each morning will incorporate meditation, talks and a group activity. In the afternoon you can use how to spend you time; walking a labyrinth, time to reflect, enjoy the lovely grounds or book in for healing with Reiki and counselling using symbols.

Accommodation and additional meals can, be provided (contact the centre for details)

Sessions in the afternoon booked on an individual basis are extra – £15 or £8.

Comments from 2011 event –

In life we seem to be expected to keep up a high speed pace – however there needs to be time for the self and for looking at aspects of our lives that may never get examined or may be holding us back.I found this course with Helen and Rita a great opportunity to step off the treadmill – to explore my path to healing and wholeness through symbol systems, guided meditation, Reiki, and more.

Thank you for a very good Purley Experience. I really enjoyed all the sessions. I have come away with lots to reflect upon……..
